Greetings from Powell, Wyoming!

We just recently moved to Powell from Houston, TX in June and have always wanted a weather station.  It took us awhile to get settled into the new house then we finally ventured out into the weather world.  We bought a cabled Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus and got it all set up.  We experimented with a few different software packages and finally decided that Virtual Weather Station suited our needs best.  We officially went live on September 19, 2008.  Since then we have added AJAX updating capabilities using the script from Saratoga Weather as well as a few other features.  Right now we are just using a modified version of the VWS template, but hope to eventually get around to designing a site from scratch.

The computer running VWS is a 2.7GHz Celeron with 256MB of RAM.  It is running Windows XP and isn't used for anything else other than VWS.

Well that is quite a change of climate to go from Houston to northern Wyoming to say the least!  I am sure you will enjoy having your own weather station and being able to monitor conditions right where you are instead of some far off airport or other METAR.  Certainly places like where you live have some fun weather to watch too so that makes it all the more worthwhile.

Using Ken's (Saratoga Weather) templates are definitely the way to go.  He gives back to the 'personal weather station community' so much and is great at sharing all of his knowledge.

Welcome to the RMWN!
